The Second Youth Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Conference of Bazhong, Sichuan province, was held on July 15th. This conference serves as the provincial selection competition for Bazhong, and aims to encourage and guide the majority of young people to carry forward traditional Chinese culture and embrace their heritage.

According to the rules, the competition is divided into two categories: Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting, with four groups for elementary school, middle school, high school, and vocational schools. There are a total of 180 participants from various counties (districts) in the city, who engaged in on-site creation and skills competitions in calligraphy and painting.

During the 3-hour competition, Chinese calligraphy participants are required to create one designated themed and one self-selected themed piece of calligraphy on-site. Chinese painting participants are required to create one designated themed Chinese painting on-site.

Through expert evaluation, a total of 9 participants were awarded the first prize in Chinese painting, and 12 participants were awarded the first prize in Chinese calligraphy. They will represent Bazhong and compete with outstanding participants from other cities and prefectures in the province in late August.
