On January 6th, the 6th Sichuan Provincial National Fitness Ice and Snow Season event (Bazhong Guangwu Mountain sub-venue), jointly organized by the Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, Bazhong Municipal People's Government, Bazhong Cultural and Tourism Group, and 5 other units, was held at the Daba Ski Resort of Guangwu Mountain Tourist Area in Bazhong, Sichuan province.

After the event, the 9th Sichuan Guangwu Mountain International Ice and Snow Festival opened.

During the opening ceremony, the newly constructed Yanziling Passenger Ropeway made its official debut. 

The ropeway represents another significant breakthrough in the rapid development of Bazhong's cultural and tourism industry. 

With a total investment of 287 million yuan ($39.90 million), the ropeway spans 1,765 meters, with a vertical drop of 591 meters, a one-way operation time of 5 minutes, and a one-way passenger capacity of 2,000 people per hour. 

Its construction reduces the mountain climbing time from 2 hours to just 5 minutes, providing visitors with a more convenient and efficient means of mountain transportation.

The ice and snow festival will continue until the end of February, during which a variety of exciting supporting activities will also be held.
