The 29th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair took place in Macao in October. Shandong province showed its agricultural products at the event, with 58 enterprises exhibiting over 200 items including grains, fruits, vegetables, livestock, and seafood.

In 2023, Shandong exported agricultural products worth 71.95 million yuan ($9.85 million) to Macao.

Shandong and Macao have also been working together in a wide range of fields, including traditional Chinese medicine, tourism, and finance. The establishment of 18 new Macao-invested enterprises in Shandong in recent years further highlights the deepening economic ties between the two regions.

In 2023, trade between Shandong and Macao reached 500 million yuan, marking an 8.9 percent year-on-year increase. This positive trend continued in 2024, with trade volume reaching 410 million yuan in the first ten months, representing a 29.4 percent year-on-year growth.

Furthermore, Shandong and Macao have been strengthening cooperation in science and education. Both regions have established robust cooperation mechanisms in engineering technology, advanced biotechnology, traditional Chinese medicine, and marine education that are fostering innovation and driving the integration of industry, academia, and research.
