The 2025 Shandong (Taian) Intangible Cultural Heritage Month and Spring Festival Art Season was launched at the city's cultural and art center in Tai'an on Jan 22.

The event will include a series of festive cultural activities throughout the city, allowing people to explore Tai'an and its rich culture.

The auspicious lion dance marked the beginning of the event. Actors in colorful costumes from Shandong Bangzi opera, stilt walkers, and land boat performers in various types of traditional attire captivated the audience. Various intangible cultural heritage items and folk cultural performance teams showcased their talents in different areas, with dynamic movements and acrobatics earning applause from the audience.

At all levels of the city, cultural and tourism departments have carefully planned more than 1,000 activities, such as small drama performances, storytelling tours, Spring Festival village galas, and intangible heritage gatherings, promoting cultural well-being and interaction between urban and rural areas to create a harmonious cultural atmosphere for Spring Festival.
