Tai'an strengthens ties with Japanese sister city Hachioji

Print PrintTai'an received a delegation from its Japanese sister city of Hachioji, led by the city council chairperson, from Nov 4 to 6. Cheng Yuanjun, director of the Tai'an Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, met with the guests for in-depth discussions.
Cheng extended a sincere welcome and briefed the delegation on Taian's socio-economic progress. He emphasized that while national ties thrive on people-to-people bonds, city-level friendships are sustained through mutual understanding.
Cheng also expressed hope that the visit would strengthen communication, facilitate the sharing of governance experience, and build consensus for cooperation. Cheng envisioned a situation in which the rich culture of Taishan Mountain and Japan's diverse civilization illuminate each other, fostering a lasting friendship between the two peoples through institutional exchanges and practical collaboration.
The delegation members of Hachioji expressed deep admiration for Tai'an's robust economic growth, beautiful urban environment, excellent ecology, and harmonious society. They conveyed eagerness to enhance mutual visits and launch substantive cooperation to deepen friendly ties across multiple sectors.
During their stay, the delegation visited iconic sites including Taishan Mountain and Daimiao Temple, and conducted field studies at leading local enterprises such as Shandong Daiyin Textile and Garment Group, and Shandong Ropenet Group.
Since establishing their sister-city relationship in 2006, Tai'an and Hachioji have continuously strengthened exchanges and achieved fruitful outcomes in education, culture, tourism, and sports.
