The emerging rural tourism in Dazhangzhuang town in Yiyuan county, East China's Shandong province, has brought travel and economic vitality to the chill of winter.
Recently, the Dongyi fruit and vegetable cooperative had its greenhouses filled with eager tourists picking strawberries, tomatoes, and other fresh produce. The lively atmosphere was amplified by local internet influencers like "Xiaofang's Family", who live-streamed the experience for thousands of online viewers.
Currently, Dazhangzhuang town has developed a unique model combining "offline experiences with online traffic" to boost local agriculture. The town is also leading a tourism service based on catering, allowing visitors to customize their itineraries. Tourists can enjoy picking fresh produce in the morning, learn traditional peanut oil-making techniques in the afternoon, and visit the Nanyan memorial hall to experience the region's rich red history.
The town's efforts to integrate red cultural resources with tourism have created a comprehensive educational and entertainment experience. This year, an immersive red-themed scene play attracted over 40,000 visitors and generated significant revenue.
Looking ahead, Yiyuan will boost its digital presence, improve infrastructure, and create more integrated cultural and tourism platforms, promoting a new path for rural vitalization.
