The Shanghai Municipal Government recently honored 50 expatriates from 18 countries with the 2024 Magnolia Silver Award, in recognition of their significant contributions to the city's development and international exchanges. Among the awardees, three distinguished individuals are from Changning district.

Jason Peng, a Singaporean, oversees Danaher Corporation's operations in China, guiding over 15 subsidiary companies. Under his leadership, Danaher has established nine R&D and manufacturing bases and five innovation centers nationwide, with Shanghai as the regional headquarters.

Carlo D'Andrea, an Italian, founded D'Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel in 2013, providing comprehensive legal services to multinational companies in China. He also actively promotes Shanghai's development and cultural exchanges between China and Italy.

Sumitoshi Matsuo, a Japanese national, has long been dedicated to enhancing economic and trade cooperation between China and Japan. As the president of Nippon Express' East Asia Region, Matsuo contributes significantly to the friendly relations between the two nations.
These three awardees are also members of the latest cohort of the "Hongqiao Friendship Alliance", a district-level platform recognizing outstanding foreign nationals.
The Magnolia Silver Award, named after Shanghai's city flower, the white magnolia, is one of the city's highest honors for foreign nationals. Since its inception in 1989, the award has recognized 1,877 expatriates for their outstanding contributions to Shanghai's development.
