One bridge: the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

Three railways: the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Freight Railway; the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Light MRT (via Shunde and Zhongshan) and the Guangzhou-Foshan-Jiangmen-Zhuhai Intercity Rail (via Foshan and Jiangmen)

Connection: The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge begins at Lantau Island, linking Hong Kong with Zhuhai and Macao in a‘Y’-shape, and crosses the Tai O and the Pearl River Estuary.
Length: The main part of the project is a cross-sea bridge and tunnel around 35 kilometers. The tunnels for Hong Kong and Zhuhai are measured 12.6 kilometers and 13.4 kilometers, respectively.
Flow: The Bridge will havea six-lane expressway and the predicted travel speed is 100 kilometers per hour.
Schedule: The schedule will be completed in 2016. The driving time between Hong Kong and Zhuhai will be shortened from more than three hours to just one and a half hours.
Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Light MRT: The intercity rail from Guangzhou to Zhuhai passes through Shunde, Zhongshan and Gongbei to Zhuhai. This is a total length of 142.24 kilometers with 21 stations.
Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway: The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway begins at the Jiebian Station of Maoming Railway (via Longjiang, Heshan, Jiangmen, Xinhui, Doumen, and West Zhuhai) and travels to the Gaolan Port in Zhuhai. The total measured length is 184.5 kilometers and is worth an investment of 13.53 billion yuan ($2.02 billion).
West Guangdong Expressway: The now-completed West Guangdong Expressway connects northern Zhuhai to its surrounding areas and its intraregional cities.
Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway: The Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway connects eastern Zhuhai to its surrounding areas and its major domestic cities.
Jiangmen-Zhuhai Expressway: The Jiangmen-Zhuhai Expressway connects Zhuhai to the major cities west of the Pearl River Estuary.
Taiyuan-Macao Expressway: The Taiyuan-Macao Expressway connects Macao to Zhuhai and its interior cities, ending in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.
Ports
In Zhuhai, there will be seven checkpoints: Gaolan, Wanshan, Jiuzhou, Xiangzhou, Tangjia, Hongwan and Doumen. The Xiangzhou District boasts the following checkpoints:
Jiuzhou Port: Focuses on developing personal rapid transit.
Xiangzhou Port: Focuses on land-to-island transportation, island supply, island tourism and delivery services.
Tangjia Port: Focuses on container transportation services for surrounding cities.
Hongwan Port: Focuses on transporting building materials and supplies for urban areas in Nanwan and Hengqin New Area, as well as ocean shipping.
Jiuzhou Port: A composite and multi-functional port focusing on services for tourists and containers.
The port is located in the center of eastern Zhuhai with 17 berths of land each 1,006 meters long and the expected annual throughput is 450,000 TEU with a landing capacity of 3,000 tons. Direct flights from the Jiuzhou Port to the Hong Kong International Airport opened in July 2007.
Tourists traveling abroad can purchase steamer tickets and go through exit formalities with passports in the Jiuzhou Port with their registered luggage sent directly to the plane. Tourists can get to the Hong Kong International Airport in about 50 minutes via high-speed ferry from the Jiuzhou Port.
The number of shipping lines from the Jiuzhou Port to the ports of Hong Kong have increased to 34 lines on week days and 36 lines on weekends.
Conveyance by land
Expressway
The Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway began operating at the end of 1999,while the West Guagzhou Expressway opened on Dec 28, 2005 and the Jiangmen- Zhuhai Expressway opened on May 17, 2007. The Taiyuan- Macao Expressway remained underconstruction.
The expressways connect the major cities with Zhuhai. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge began construction on Dec 15, 2009 and is set to be completed in 2016.
Air Transport
The Zhuhai Airport is located in southwest Zhuhai – covering an area of 4 million square meters–and was both designed and built according to ICAO 4E standard and completed in June, 1995. A runway and a taxiway of 4,000 meters, which means they are capable of taking off and landing air buses such as the B747-400 plane, were completed in the first phase of construction.
The parking apron is 685,000 square meters with 17 parking bays and nine remote bays. The terminal building covers an area of 91,600 square meters and can be annually guaranteed to send off and land planes 100,000 times, have a passenger throughput of 12 million, carry a total of 600,000 tons of cargo.
During peak hours, a total of 23 planes and a through put of 5,000 tourists take off and land at the airport.
