Several dozen young students from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao got together for a special summer camp in the city of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, July 24 - 27, to get some useful training in basic first aid that can be important in an emergency.

The training involved both lectures and hands-on practice with emergency skills. They also visited the Zhuhai emergency command center on a field trip to learn how rescue workers help victims of a car crash.

In addition to the emergency training, the 70 students got a chance to know and understand each other better by taking part in various activities where they could have a little fun at a picnic, outdoor cooking, performances, and some excursions.

The idea was to increase communications among people from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and help the young be better, more responsible citizens who show self-control, team-oriented spirit, and rescue skills.

The organizers are the Association for Science and Technology of the city’s Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai emergency command center, the Hong Kong Auxiliary Medical Service and the Associação de Juventude Voluntária de Macao.
