The Zhuhai delegation signed contracts worth 5.57 billion yuan ($825 million) at the 120th China Import & Export Fair (Canton Fair 2016) from Oct 15 to Nov 4, up 2.1 percent over the previous session, the city Bureau of Commerce announced recently.

The delegation of 176 local enterprises exhibited wares at 576 booths. Among them were 15 brand enterprises occupying 105 spaces, 129 private businesses, and 116 manufacturing enterprises.

Agreements for $619 million of brand products accounted for 75 percent of the city’s total.

Mechanical and electrical products, which are export pillars for Zhuhai, clinched $701 million -- 85 percent of the city’s total export turnover. Furniture, home supplies, toys and gifts amounted to 6 percent with a volume of $49.5 million; kitchen supplies, ceramics and glassware accounted for 5 percent or $41 million; and textiles, garments, bags, medicines, and footwear accounted for 3 percent worth $25 million.

Meanwhile, seven products from four enterprises in Zhuhai won Canton Fair Design Awards (CF Awards). Vaporless Rice Cooker, and Rose series Air-conditioner and Air Purifier independently developed by Gree Electric Appliances, won silver and bronze awards respectively. In addition, I-sink and Magic Swan faucet developed by Primy earned silver and bronze awards; Quadrilateral Revolving Basket developed by Zhuhai Grand Kitchenware won silver; and Vino Aerato wine decanter developed by Thankhot Biotechnology received bronze.
