Hengqin Phoenix Tree Tower has just signed a deal with local aviation company Astro Air to establish Hengqin’s first helicopter Fixed-Base Operator (FBO).

Astro Air president Chen Boru said the agreement has epoch-making strategic significance for low-altitude flights in Hengqin New Area.

The FBO will utilize geographical advantages of the Hengqin Port Service Area and seek to satisfy air service the needs of Shizimen Central Business District-centered high-net-worth individuals.

Astro Air will provide this more-convenient mode of travel by instituting the intercity helicopter low-altitude flight network covering Hengqin, Macao, and the Pearl River Delta. Preliminary work on a similar FBO has started at Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town and will become operational soon.

According to Yu, now that there is a surging demand for low-altitude flight in the PRD where wealthy business people meet, such flights will become indispensable for them in the days to come.
