Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Hengqin is celebrating the December holidays with evening performances, Christmas floats, and a New Year’s party for visitors.

Ocean Kingdom opens to all

A brand-new evening show will turn the Hengqin Sea into a starry castle via the hi-tech effects of more than one million shining LEDs. Together with live music and fountains, spectators can experience the light show in 360 degrees, as if adrift in the Milky Way. Other light displays are shaped like Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and elves, filling the air with the atmosphere of the winter holidays.

A 25-m evergreen tree towers over a scene of swirling snow, simulating an authentic taste of the festive season. Meanwhile, a tunnel of light and market filled with food specialties and Yuletide products will add to the experience. 

Fireworks at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom

Among performances prepared for the festival are a float parade and a Christmas Ocean Parade staged once during the day and once in the evening. The parades feature Santas, elves, and fairies. The nighttime marches will be illuminated by countless lamplights.

Chimelong Ocean Kingdom will also hold a grand New Year’s Eve Party beginning at 9:30 pm on Dec 31, integrating song and dance, fireworks displays, and countdown to 2017.
