The seminar was sponsored by the Guangdong Robotics Association and organized by the Jinwan District Government, Zhuhai Manufacturing Association, and Zhuhai Advanced Equipment Manufacturing Association. It was supported by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province, and Guangdong University of Technology.

Cai Hegao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, who is also a leading scholar in domestic robotics, suggested that Zhuhai should realize industrial upgrade by developing a featured robot industry. This would be based on local industrial characteristics such as precision machinery, aviation and aerospace, and automobile manufacture.

According to the executive president of the Guangdong Robotics Association, Ren Yutong, Jinwan Intelligent Manufacturing Street has attracted the association’s attention since its establishment as a new type of incubator aimed at the intelligent manufacturing industry. Jinwan District and Zhuhai are expected to have a bright future in precision machinery and equipment manufacture. Meanwhile, Jinwan has obvious location advantages with convenient traffic routes and an airport, enabling it to especially benefit manufacturing enterprises on the West Bank of the Pearl River.

Opened in September, Jinwan Intelligent Manufacturing Street has drawn more than 30 incubated startups in fields of plant-protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), automobile driver assistance systems, avionics devices, and industrial robots.

The demonstration base will develop into a demo plant for flexible production and scenario applications, and will accelerate popularization and application of automation technology. It will also undertake enterprises’ intelligent regeneration and automated production projects, and commercialize research achievements of enterprises, universities, and technical institutions.
