Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

The 15th Guangdong Seed Expo opened recently in Guangzhou, with a satellite venue in Zhuhai for the first time showcasing orchids, chrysanthemums, and other plants in January and February.

Sponsored by the Agricultural Department of Guangdong Province, the expo attracted nearly a thousand exhibitors including top 10 world and domestic famous seed enterprises. 

Themed Integration, Innovation, Development and Sharing and focusing on fine seeds and methods, the expo gives a comprehensive display of the modern planting industry and hi-tech promotion in Guangdong. Over a thousand improved varieties of crops and more than 30 matching technologies have been promoted and applied over the last 14 sessions, having increased farmer income by 3 billion yuan ($433 million) on average annually. In total, more than 77,000 varieties of crops from across the world have been exhibited. 

Plant exhibition in Zhuhai

Covering about 200,000 sq m, the expo encompasses eight areas -- new species field display, protected vegetable high-efficient cultivation patterns, urban leisure agriculture, cooperative development patterns and achievements, integrated achievements in farm machinery and techniques, modern agricultural equipment, seed industry brands and trade, and farming culture. Exhibition areas are distributed in fields and farmlands.

In addition to horticultural plants, the Zhuhai site will also exhibit new and quality vegetable varieties and established farm produce.
