The unveiling ceremony for Centro Latinoamericano (Center of Latin America), an innovative project jointly established by Hengqin New Area and Jinan University (JNU Guangzhou), was held at Inno Valley HQ on Dec 22.

The center is an academic base and think tank for communication and cooperation between southern regions of China and Latin American countries, a place to commercialize scientific research achievements in modern Chinese medicine and natural medicine, as well as a mutual innovation site for production, education, and research. 

The center shall fully integrate think tank, talent cultivation, industrial transformation, and technological promotion. Since last year, Hengqin has expanded its opening to Latin American countries and boosted economic and trade cooperation between the two parties. 

Hengqin New Area and JNU also reached a strategic partnership framework agreement to probe into new-pattern integration of university scientific research and regional development. By combining JNU’s strong points in human resources, intelligence, and science and technology with local resources and industrial advantages in Hengqin New Area, the parties seek a win-win upgrade of both the local economy and educational level.

Hengqin New Area Administrative Committee director Niu Jing and JNU vice presidents Liu Jiesheng and Song Xianzhong were at the ceremony.
