Changyuan Gongchuang Power Safety Technology Co Ltd has independently researched and developed a “rail transit power supply safety interlocking system,” which was tried out in the first phase of Guangzhou Metro Line 7. 

The system solves a main security issue in metro power supply and ensures smooth operation of Guangzhou Metro Line 7 -- the first domestic power supply safety interlocking subway track. 

Changyuan Gongchuang is a holding subsidiary of Changyuan Group Ltd. One of China’s largest grip equipment suppliers, Changyuan was founded in 1986 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A leading brand in precluding domestic electric power security mishaps, Changyuan Gongchuang occupies more than 40 percent of the domestic electricity market and over 85 percent of the Guangdong market in terms of technologies and products.

The Zhuhai company came into operation last May as a Guangdong Post Doctorate Innovation Practice Base to attract talents and research and develop new technologies. According to spokesperson Wei Lue, the company set a record last year with more than 40 patents. It continues to expand error-prevention technology in new industries to form a comprehensive mistake-proof system. 

The “power-supply running safe production management system” serving Guangzhou Metro Line 7 obtained project approval in 2015, and was transferred to the subway operator on Sept 30. The system, also used in Line 13, covers a power dispatch control center, eight substations along the line, and a train depot maintenance workshop. It supports control of work sheets, operation orders, and equipment inspection business processes, and technologically guarantees safe and reliable power along the line. 

Wei said it has been applied in subway systems in more than 10 cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu. Changyuan Gongchuang also won the contract for power-supply running safety production management equipment for four Guangzhou rails. Up to now, most metro lines in Guangzhou have been using Changyuan Gongchuang’s power supply safety system.
