Zhuhai Yinlong New Energy ranked fifth in the 2016 domestic pure-electric bus market, producing 6,047 buses with year-on-year growth of 90 percent, according to the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology.
The ministry’s statistics show that domestic production reached 115,700 pure-electric vehicles, a 31 percent increase from the 88,000 produced in 2015.

Zhuhai Yinlong produced 3,189 buses in 2015, ranking eighth in the industry. The company now has a 5.2 percent share of the market, thanks in part to 3 billion yuan ($437 million) in share sales, which were predominantly swooped up by JD.com, Wanda Group, China International Marine Containers, and CEO Dong Mingzhu of Gree Electric Appliances. It has also benefitted from government subsidies, as well as the publishing of the fourth and fifth new-energy automobile recommended directories.
In terms of orders, Yinlong received 6,200 in 2016, a 110 percent increase over the previous year. Its passenger vehicles now operate in more than 40 cities nationwide.
The green, efficient, convenient, and sustainable new-energy automobile market has grown in China over the past few years. Yinlong’s lithium titanium batteries allow for six-minute quick charging and discharging, with an operating temperature range of minus 50 to 60 Celsius, a 30-year cycle life span, and are fire and explosion proof. The company is exploring a broad market with independent core competitiveness, according to an executive.
Yinlong’s products are now applied in public transit and civil-military integration. The company will expand to multiple new fields such as architecture energy storage, port logistics, e-commerce logistics, and airport ferry bus in the future.
