A record 100,000 tourists from all over the country celebrated the seven-day Spring Festival holiday at Ocean Spring Resort in Jinwan District. 

Spraying steel

The resort featured artists from Chongqing who performed eight shows including Molten Steel Spraying and a Dragon Dance Parade from the 1st to the 5th day of the Jan 27 through Feb 2 Lunar New Year.

The thousand-year-old folk art performance, which originated in Chongqing’s Tongliang District, has become an outstanding representative of China’s first-group intangible cultural heritages and was chosen to lead Chongqing’s Top Ten Folk Arts. 

The spectacle is formed by spraying 1,700 C molten iron into the sky to create sparks of molten steel that dance in all directions like fireworks. 

Romance in Zhuhai 

Ocean Spring also promoted a must-see large-scale evening gala titled Romance in Zhuhai at its upgraded Dream Theater. The performance not only reflects Lingnan traditional culture, but also adds modern stage design and entertaining jokes. Together with brand-new dance drama and improved LED layout, the show was praised by holidaymakers in Zhuhai. 

Gourmet Carnival

Food Street also held a Gourmet Carnival offering hundreds of cuisines from around the world and various types of specialties made with chicken. 

All-terrain thrills

Zhuhai Ocean Spring Resort also brought in all-terrain vehicles, satisfying the demands of adventurous people to drive on mountainous terrain and other difficult environments. Kart Racing and a DTV X-Tank also provided thrills. 

Sui Youguo, general manager of the resort marketing center, revealed that revenue increased significantly during the holiday week. 

The resort plans to arrange more activities for Lantern Festival on Feb 11, and Valentine’s Day on Feb 14, he said.
