Longjiang Airlines was cleared to operate by the Civil Aviation Administration of China on Feb 9. Per the company’s vice president, Li Xuezhong, Zhuhai was selected to be the first destination of the maiden flight because it abounds with tourist resources and offers a huge aviation market.
Zhuhai Airport has experienced increasing passenger throughput in recent years. Longjiang Airlines is optimistic about the market and the city’s radiating capacity toward the Pearl River Delta. As a promotion, the airline plans to offer special fares as low as 100 yuan ($14.50) for the flight between Zhuhai and Hefei in February.
