New helicopter routes from Zhuhai Jinwan Airport (ZUH) to several islands in the Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone will be established later this year.

Zhuhai Asia Pacific General Aviation and zone officials have just agreed to develop land-island "stereoscopic transport" by which passengers can view many dimensions of sights along the way. They will also offer high-end tourists characteristic and convenient service from connecting airliners to the helicopter island excursions.

Wanshan's island helicopter transportation crews initiated pilot runs in April last year. By the end of 2016, the total number of flight reservations to Wailingding and Big Wanshan islands had reached nearly 100, and 57 flights had been made on schedule, showing favorable prospects and market potential.

At present, helicopter tourist routes from Zhuhai Jiuzhou Airport in Jida to Wailingding, Dong'ao, Big Wanshan, Guishan, and Dangan islands are in service, which has helped broaden the development of high-end island tourism.
