Xiangzhou-based Zhuhai Livzon Diagnostics Inc, one of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies in China, has set a goal of gaining more than 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) in business income for 2018.
Hou Xuemei, chief scientist at Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Inc, revealed the ambition as a representative to the First Session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress on Jan 27.
Zhuhai Livzon Diagnostics is a hi-tech corporation founded in 1989 that engages in R&D, production, and marketing of in-vitro diagnostic reagents and devices. Its production quality management system has received certifications for GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GSP (Good Supply Practice), and has met the requirements for ISO13485/ISO9001 from Germany's TÜV Product Service.
With increasing R&D investment in recent years, the company has developed 18 patented and 21 exclusive products, most of which have been officially honored. For example, a kind of compound injection of Chinese herbal essences -- codonopsis pilosula, codonopsis pilosula and other ingredients -- won the first prize of the Guangdong Science & Technology Award.

Zhuhai Livzon Diagnostics Inc, located in Gongbei area of Xiangzhou District, hopes to reach more than 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) in business income this year.
Hou was confident about fulfilling the goal, saying that the company will keep up with the times and build itself into a giant company with greater domestic and global influence. Formerly committed to production of distinctive specialist medicines, the company plans to shift its focus to innovative bio-medicine to break into the precision medicine sector.
A provincial official stated that the Guangdong government will give full support to the company's expansion. The 2018 work report called for greater efforts in cultivating key enterprises and industrial leaders to reach the goal of growing the number of enterprises with annual revenue over 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) from the current 260 to 270 this year.
Zhuhai Yinlong Energy, a large modern high-tech new-energy enterprise, will also challenge itself with the same task. The company has absorbed a personal investment of 15 billion yuan ($2.4 billion) from Gree's leader Dong Mingzhu to build a new energy vehicle production powerhouse in Luoyang, Henan Province.
With the help of the advanced development philosophy of one of world's largest air conditioner manufacturers, Yinlong Energy will quickly establish its own team and gain a firm foothold with more independent core technologies, according to Dong.
