The Zhuhai Industry & Information Technology Bureau has recently released a list to cultivate 15 leading enterprises to have a scale of over 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) this year.

These companies cover a wide variety of hi-tech and strategic emerging industries, such as new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, biomedicine, and new energy vehicles.

They included Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances, Flextronics International Ltd, China Southern Power Grid Zhuhai Power Supply Bureau, Zhuhai Meizu Technology, Ninestar Corp, Livzon Pharmaceutical Group, and others.

In addition, 129 backbone enterprises with a scale of more than 1 billion yuan ($145 million), as well as 1,105 medium or small enterprises with a scale of less than 1 billion yuan but great growth potential will also be cultivated.

They will all receive preferential policies, while enjoying loans with discounted interest rates.
