Eighteen projects valued at 5.28 billion yuan ($779 million) were signed during the Zhuhai General Aviation Investment Environment Promotion at the Airshow China Exhibition Hall on Nov 1.

Covering complete aircraft, components, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), general aviation operation, and other related business, the contracts will bring new resources and opportunities for Zhuhai Aviation Industrial Park, sources say.

General aviation-related support projects regarding aeronautical material, electrical machinery, precision parts, avionics system, and other key trades, make up two-thirds of the total, according to Zhou Lewei, deputy director of the industrial park’s administrative committee.

A deal with Zhuhai Hangtai Technology includes independent design, R&D, and mass production of YY 100 and YY 200 aircraft in Jinwan District. Meanwhile, a PRD carbon fiber R&D production base of Hengrui Investment Holding will work with a world-leading scientific research institute to import carbon fiber molding equipment from Spain. It will also build the first smart carbon fiber component and graphene energy storage R&D production base in South China.

In addition to the contract signings, visitors were briefed on the park’s industrial development environment and support policies for the general aviation industry.
