New architectural landmarks planned for Jida, Jinwan
Cultural, tourist, and aviation centers have been designed to both please and serve residents and visitors as outstanding landmarks in Xiangzhou and Jinwan districts. They are:
Xiangzhou Cultural Activity Center
The provincial cultural arts center is to be a large venue for reading, watching movies, various types of training, and recreational activities.
The site in Nanping Town off Zhuhai Avenue is near historic Beishan Village. It covers 18,849 sq m (4.7 acres) and will have 52,954 sq m (13 acres) of floor space.
The architectural style is said to be novel and distinctive.
Proposed Xiangzhou Cultural Activity Center
Haibin Beach Tourist Service Center
Designed for tourists at the popular Haibin Beach (City Parlor) in Jida, the service center will harmonize with natural surroundings. It is sited on a hillside facing Central Lovers Avenue, behind Zhuhai Dehan Hotel and across the avenue from the seaside.
A multi-layered terrace garden will add a distinctive touch and create a greenish effect, according to the architects. Furthermore, a sightseeing belt, already home to attractions such as Xianglu Bay Beach and the Fisher Maiden Statue, is to be enhanced by it.
Design of Tourist Service Center
Jinwan Aviation Arts Center
The proposed 66,666-sq-m (667-acre) arts complex for the West Wing urban center will be situated at Central Lake in the core area of Aviation New Town.
The contractor is Zaha Hadid Architects, a world-famous design company based in London. They will combine a theatre, arts gallery, science museum, and multi-function hall with 10 hectares (25 acres) in floor space, including 4.6 hectares (11.4 acres) above ground.
The facility is expected to elevate the public service level of the West Wing central urban area as well as the artistic atmosphere and aesthetic taste of Jinwan District and even the entire city, claimed a government official.
