Tourism syncretized with renewal and development
Plans to make Zhuhai a National All-for-One Tourism Demonstration Zone by 2020 and an international coastal leisure and tourism destination by 2025 were approved at an executive meeting of the municipal government on Aug 8.
Systematic, practical, and innovative measures will be taken in context with current development of all-for-one tourism. Five categories consisting of 23 items include overall requirements, quality product supply, infrastructure, policy support, convenient public service, efficient administration, and brand marketing.
By 2020, the city will be capable of receiving 50 million visitors, bringing tourism revenue of 45 billion yuan ($6.6 billion).
Coastal scenery
Over the ensuing 30 years, Zhuhai should be home to a raft of theme parks, international high-profile starred hotels, characteristic B&B inns, and high-end island tourism brands, all suitable for boutique exhibitions, conventions, and events. Tourism revenue is to reach 80 billion yuan ($11.7 billion), based on an annual influx of more than 75 million guests.
The plan covers integrated development and innovative products to enhance the core competitiveness of local tourism. Theme parks, sea-island access, health-oriented hot springs, brand events, sports-leisure activity, countryside ecology, conferences and conventions, industry-science-education, history-humanism, red tourism, local cuisine, and shopping functions will complement urban construction and rural rejuvenation.
In recent years, local tourism has blossomed, shifting focus from scenic spots to the All-for-One model. Last August, Zhuhai was designated as one of 10 national Demonstration Cities of Tourism & Leisure by the China National Tourism Administration, which is now the Ministry of Culture & Tourism.
