Famous tenor, much more slated at Huitong Arts Festival
A wide variety of artistic experiences such as a concert or art exhibition are attractions at an array of activities scheduled for the Sept 28-Oct 2 Huitong Arts Festival in Tangjiawan Town.
Hong Kong operatic tenor Warren Mok (Mo Hualun) will perform at the new campus of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) at 8 pm on Oct 2. Mok is one of the top three tenors in China and renowned worldwide. He was the first Chinese of foreign nationality to appear on the stage of London's Royal Opera House.

Meanwhile, a show that captures the beauty of the city with unique lighting techniques and spatial structure will take place each festival day. It will be held from 9:30 am to 6 pm on North Watchtower of Huitong Village.
Held concurrently will be an Artwork Exhibition at Mok Great Ancestral Hall. The village with well-preserved history is modern; however, it features an artistic temperament widely appreciated by visitors.

The vast village lawn will host a collage of activities highlighting gourmet food, games, and art performances.
A creatively decorated double-decker bus will take visitors on a quite different city tour. It runs from 10 am to 5 pm on National Day, Oct 1, and Oct 2.
The festival is sponsored by the Administrative Committee of the National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It also includes art discussions, talk shows, readings, and campus tours.

Or, drive along Gangwan Avenue and switch to Jinfeng Road, then take West Jintang Road or Tiyu Road to Huitong Village (会同村).
