Sanzao Town of Jinwan District took 10,000 visitors on a journey through time on Sept 24 by bringing to life cultural legacies, holding ancient recreational activities, and displaying variously shaped lanterns.

Crowds gathered along the Beipai River late in the afternoon of Mid-Autumn Festival. In batches they entered the Lantern Garden Party, which featured festive lanterns, ancient games, gifts, snacks, and a photo corner. Staff wore traditional Han clothes in harmony with ancient-style street decorations and presented as gifts sticks of sugar-coated haws, local refreshments, and products of woven straw.

A Sanzao Crane Dance, Sanzao Lion Dance and Han clothing procession were all presented downstream, as were dedicated booths publicizing intangible cultural heritages and folk customs unique to Sanzao.
