A world-class acrobatic show was held at the Zhuhai Sports Center in New Xiangzhou on Nov 11 as part of a tour heralding the 5th China International Circus Festival.

The annual event runs Nov 16 to 23 at Chimelong Hengqin International Circus City. The tour is designed to spark the enthusiasm of local fans by showcasing festival highlights.

The Journey of Life-Man Handstand Skills, clown performances, and the Chihhan Chao-Diablo-Like A Pro were full of dazzling stunts displayed by international troupes, including one from Ukraine.

Argentine performer

The tour excited downtown dwellers along the way on Nov 12 with a "flash mob" show and specially designed bus when it set out from Zhuhai Opera House on Yeli Island, passed the Duty Free Emporium in Jida and arrived at Huafa Mall in Nanping Town. It will bring the show to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge for the first time on Nov 13 before returning west to Macao on Nov 19.

Twenty-five circus performances from 20 countries will be staged at the festival in Hengqin, including some from Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The event is sponsored by the PRC Ministry of Culture & Tourism and Guangdong Provincial People's Government. The Zhuhai government and Guangdong Chimelong Group are the organizers.
