Electronic music festival to excite Chimelong Hengqin
The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) China wants to ignite Hengqin New Area with its latest extravaganza of fireworks, delicacies, circus acts, carnival rides, and electronic dance music from Nov 24 to 25.
EDC, one of the world's top three electronic music festivals, had its beginnings in 1997 in Los Angeles and performed in Shanghai earlier this year.
Visual effects
Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort, one of the world's largest marine theme parks, will be transformed into a neon-lit playground sponsored by Zebra Entertainment Enterprise and Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Investment.
Copan Kasten, Andy Moor, Mija, Major Lazer, Zeed and others will take the stage. Sixty artists and top bands, many of them mainstream music big names, will perform in a range of musical styles.
Also in store are whimsical theatrical performances, and famed laser and light displays across three stages, presented in EDC fashion. The signature Goddess Gaia stage will be transported to the venue before bringing the curtain down on 21 years of appearances. There will also be marriage packages offered to legal unions, as well as non-legal commitment ceremonies and vow renewals.

Presale tickets for two days are priced at 1,480 yuan ($213) while the single-day general ticket costs 780 yuan ($112). Sponsors say Guangdong is home to half the electronic music lovers of the country and Hengqin has easy outside access with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in place. The 80-million-yuan ($11.5 million) investment is the largest ever for an entertainment event in Zhuhai's history.
