Weather is kinder to windsurf and kiteboard athletes
Conditions improved considerably on the second match day of the 2018 Asian Windsurfing & Kiteboarding Championships, becoming clear, cool, and calmer -- ideal for both competitors and onlookers.
In the morning of Nov 26, athletes coated in sunscreen dragged a hundred or so sailboards into the waters of Xianglu Bay in Jida, Xiangzhou District. Yu Ting, 19, from Zhejiang Province, praised Zhuhai's sea conditions as suitable for windsurfing. A seven-year veteran in the discipline, Yu said she performed well, adding that her second Zhuhai trip is mainly about learning and exchanging rather than winning.

A Zhuhai resident surnamed Zhao said he walked to the beach from home. "I heard that many tourists came to Zhuhai from the surrounding cities, and we were at home. I am so lucky to be able to enjoy such an exciting picture!" he commented.
The equally colorful kiteboarding event, which is in its first year here, is "very exciting," said Mr Lu from Changchun in Jilin Province. In town as a tourist, he said it was his first time to observe the sport as, in the background, boarders attached to wind-powered kites floated and soared upon their hydrofoils.
