Dramas, operas, ballets, and concerts will be held throughout December at Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre in Shizimen Central Business District and Zhuhai Opera House on Yeli Island in Old Xiangzhou.

Chibi Maruko-chan music drama

The long-running manga series Chibi Maruko-chan depicts the simple yet interesting life of young Maruko and her family in suburban Japan in the 1970s. The serialization was popular between its first broadcast in 1990 and last in 2011. Momoko Sakura, creator of the much-loved anime series, died of breast cancer on Aug 15 at age 53.

The well-loved characters and valuable childhood memories courtesy of Momoko Sakura will be presented by the well-known Japanese children's theatre company Hikosen and will be Chinese lip-synced.
