Solicitation for 16 Zhuhai Ambassador Crew to represent the "Islands & Sailing" city in the 2019-20 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race began on Dec 12. They will be aboard the Zhuhai yacht in pairs during the eight legs of the race.

This follows a cooperation agreement signed between Zhuhai Jiuzhou Holdings and Clipper Ventures in July, which made Zhuhai a host port and team partner for the next three yacht race events.

The Clipper race, known as the world's largest and toughest endurance test for amateurs, is divided into eight legs. The 2019-20 event will begin next summer and see a fleet of 70 identical Clipper yachts pass through 13 ports on its 40,000-nautical-mile global tour. Zhuhai's team, which will include international crew members, two Zhuhai ambassador crew, and a professional skipper, bears the city's name.

With no previous sailing experience required, the program is open to all Chinese citizens aged 18 and older who are proficient in both spoken and written English and most importantly, love a little adventure.
