Centipedes to dragons, Folk Parade to marvel Doumen
The 15th Doumen District Folk Art Parade will be staged on Feb 17 as Chinese New Year celebrations encompass the Lantern Festival. Once again, the parade promises a fascinating fusion of local intangible cultural heritage items and out-of-town folk art performances.
There will be 15 metrics dedicated to Lianzhou Fire Dragon Dance and Gold & Silver Dragon Dance, Imperial Kinsmen Sacrificial Rites, Leizhou Centipede Dance from Zhanjiang City, Liantan Women's Thatch-Dragon Dance from Yunfu City, folk art performances from Fugong County of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, and more.
For the first time, local enterprises will design their own floats and make a formation showcasing Doumen's achievements in culture, economy, and living quality since the beginning of Reform and Opening-Up.
