Two-dozen Xiangzhou roads slated for improvements
Twenty-four roads in New Xiangzhou, Old Xiangzhou, Qianshan, Shangchong, Gongbei, and Jida are proposed by the Zhuhai Highway Bureau for upgrades.
Spanning 64 km (40 miles), 38 roads with more than four lanes in the central urban area have already been renovated and landscaped since 2017.
Unlike previously, most of fifth-batch roads, which total 21.28 km (13 miles) in length, are sub-arterial or feeders. The shore-side of Zhuhai Holiday Resort Hotel to the Changsheng Road intersection of Lovers Avenue in Gongbei is the only exception. Sidewalk pavement on the northwest side of the avenue will be replaced.
The other 23 roads and streets will receive improved lighting, landscaping, and asphalt paving. They include Wenyuan (Yinhua to Renmin), Haihong, South Section of Landun, and Beihuan of New Xiangzhou, Xingning, Xiangxi, Huwan, Taoyuan and Xiamei of Old Xiangzhou, Lian'an and Gangyi of Gongbei, Bailian, Jinghe, Daguna and Yuanlin (Haibin to Jinghe) of Jida, as well as Haizhou and Xiawan of Gongbei.
Citizens can express their views on paper with the Zhuhai Highway Bureau before Jan 15.
