Yinli Group, which owns and manages more than 30 shopping malls in China, has taken over Walmart's Zhuhai Mall in Qianshan and renamed it Incity.

The 11-hectare (27-acre) shopping center was acquired on Jan 17 by Shenzhen-based Yinli (formerly known as SCP Group). Yinli is China's leading commercial real estate investor, developer and operator. It owns other Incity malls in Xi'an, Suzhou, Wuhan, Shanghai, Ningbo, and Wenzhou for instance.

Zhuhai Mall opened as a world-class community shopping center at 338 North Mingzhu Road, Qianshan of Xiangzhou District in 2016.

US retailer Walmart anchored the mall with a members-only Sam's Club outlet. Retail space was leased to Uniqlo, Decathlon, Starbucks, and other famous brands. Although the mall stopped expanding in the second half of 2017, those stores and Sam's Club are staying on, and heavy investments are planned to bring in other top names to meet demands for upgraded shopping experiences, according to a manager.

All over the mall atrium are advertisements for Spring Festival scrolls, red envelopes, and local delicacies such as Tangjia Tea Refreshments, Tteok (a class of Korean rice cakes made with glutinous rice flour, also known as sweet rice or chapssal), and sugar paintings. In addition, an Incity bazaar from Jan 28 to Feb 8 will host games, DIY Chinese dumplings, and artistic performances featuring ukuleles, choruses, and African drums.
