Two million visitors are thrilled to fill tourism coffers
Tourist arrivals grew 13.5 percent to 2.19 million in Zhuhai during the week-long Spring Festival holiday that ended Sunday, and produced 1.53 billion yuan ($226 million) in revenue, a year-on-year increase of 25.5 percent.
More than 30 themed activities were put on for day-trippers and the 558,800 travelers who stayed overnight, up 15.2 percent. They participated in flower fairs, appreciated folk art, visited amusement parks and hot springs, and sampled local culinary delicacies, according to the Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Culture, Tourism & Sports Bureau.

Furthermore, popular Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort in Hengqin New Area staged martial art performances and dances with both traditional Chinese and exotic elements. Chimelong set attendance records during the golden week as did Ocean Spring Resort and Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Town.
Other attractions included touring Qi'ao Mangrove Wetland Ecological Park that reopened on Feb 2 in Tangjiawan, exploring city parks and various islands, and observing the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge from luxury cruise ships.
