Yunzhou-Tech survey drone does well at England show
An autonomous survey boat manufactured by Zhuhai-based Yunzhou-Tech performed admirably at the influential Ocean Business 2019 exhibition April 9-11 in Southampton, England.
"Our two demos (of the ME120) at Ocean Business had been held with success," according to a spokesperson. ME120 is a catamaran marine drone that fits easily inside a van. It performs autonomous hydrographic and oceanographic surveys using intelligent obstacle avoidance and high-precision navigation. It samples and monitors water quality, measures flow, surveys and maps ocean topography, detects sub-marine geomorphology and targets, and handles water patrol and supervision.

In addition to low noise, it is also valued for multi-beam device-carrying capacity, compatibility, and jet-pump propulsion for stability. In a joint sonar survey and mapping demonstration at Ocean Business, for instance, a ME120 demonstrated compatibility with a multi-beam sonar by Kongsberg, a leading instrument manufacturer.
"In this demo, the USV deviated less than 0.1 to the survey line, assisting the M3 sonar to generate a very beautiful dataset," the spokesperson said.
Ocean Business 2019 attracted more than 340 international exhibitors showcasing their latest products, services, and information.
