Leisure park underway near village cultural heritages
Lishan Village Westside Leisure Park in Qianwu Town of Doumen District is expected to open before the Oct 1 National Day holiday to serve thousands of local villagers and residents of nearby Fushan Industrial Park.
Covering 12,000 sq m (3 acres), the park near Westside Kindergarten will have a leisure square, pavilion, garden trails, stage, fitness and recreational facilities, and parking spots among ancient trees and pergolas. Sports enthusiasts can play on the purposed five-a-side football pitch, two basketball courts, and greenways.
In addition to countryside leisure, visitors may sample mudfish, Cishui (rice noodles usually served with sausages, shrimps, and shredded squid), and other authentic local delicacies. Or they may explore Huang Great Ancestral Hall built by Huang Lun, the first Jinshi (candidate who passed the highest examination in Imperial China) of Zhuhai.

There are 17 memorial tablets in the ancestral hall in recognition of the academic and political success of Huang family members during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1636-1912) dynasties. They include Huang Huaisen, Zhuhai's first Xunfu (grand coordinator and provincial governor), and Huang Yunfang and Huang Yinfang, the city's first and second Wujuren (candidate who passed the provincial exam as part of the imperial examination for military officers).
The nearby architecture will be renovated consistent with the style of Huang Great Ancestral Hall, according to an executive of Qingwu.
