October opening foreseen for Xiangwan citizen center
The Xiangwan Citizens Arts Center near the Haihong Bus Terminal and Xiangwan Residential District will open to the public in October as a venue for reading, leisure, and entertainment.
The facility is located east of Meihua Road and north of Haihong Road in New Xiangzhou. Expected to pass civil work inspection in August, it consists of a main building, cultural square, and administrative center. Support facilities include a small fitness garden and parking lots.

With floor space of 1,094.69 sq m (1309 sq yd), the first floor will contain a 128.54-sq-m (154-sq-yd) Time Book House and 95.54-sq-m (114-sq-yd) Xiangwan City Parlor. The parlor is an exhibition zone for interaction, equipped with removable billboards, virtual reality (VR) devices, and independent booths.
The 1,111.37-sq m (1,329-sq-yd) second floor will contain a 404.81-sq-m (484-sq-yd) Multi-Functional Hall with 161 seats. There will be costume and prop rooms behind the main stage catering to cultural and art activities.
Entrance
Free classes will be offered weekly in the training, multi-functional, and cultural and sports entertainment rooms on the second floor.
The third floor, with floorage of 1094.69 sq m (1,309 sq yd), will be reserved for offices, storage, and archives rooms and a Communist Party of China Cultural Exhibition Hall.
