White duo joins black octet of swans in 'Fragrant Hills'
Xiangshan Lake Park in New Xiangzhou was further graced on May 22 with the arrival of two white swans appearing amid blossoms and fruit trees.
They have joined eight black swans that visitors are forbidden to feed, as the park has staff assigned to do so.
Xiangshan (Fragrant Hills) Park, encircled by a 2,400-m (1.5-mile) track, opened to the public on Jan 1. It has a tourist service center, bicycle lane and footpath, lotus pond, covered corridor, entertainment-oriented docks, restaurants, and bars.
Its papaya trees, tomatoes and pumpkins have already begun bearing fruit, and 400 sq m (478 sq yd) of sunflowers will come fully into bloom over the next two weeks.
