Hengqin New Area is about to open a community sports park on 2.25 hectares (5.56 acres) of prime land. All that's pending is inspection acceptance before welcoming the public to shaded areas for relaxation, recreation, or exercise.

Located on the north side of Hengqin Avenue and west of Hengqin International Tennis Center, the new park is adjacent to Hengqin No 1 Middle School, Shishan Village (石山村), and other densely populated areas.

The theme sports area is encircled by a long pathway surrounding two standard basketball courts, a five-a-side football field, 11 standard ping pong tables, two badminton courts, and several sets of leisure fitness equipment.

Stone benches are placed in the leisure activity area with trees in between to provide shading. The vast lawn is interspersed with decorative flowers at the foot of evergreen trees. The park's green rate reaches 88.5 percent.

A 7.67-hectare (19-acre) second phase is upcoming with 11 standard football fields, three basketball courts, children's playground, music lawn, leisure trails, and toilets, but a construction date hasn't been confirmed, according to Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Holdings Co, the developer.
