Hengqin's unique Lionsgate World roars Wednesday
Lionsgate Entertainment World, a one-of-a-kind indoor and interactive theme park that prolongs and exemplifies movies with live entertainment, retail offerings, and dining, opens Wednesday, July 31 in Hengqin New Area.
An investment of Hong Kong Lai Sun Group, Asia's first movie-themed vertical theme park occupies 2.2 hectares (5.5 acres) of Novotown, a multi-phase project that features a mixture of cultural and entertainment attractions.
Best-in-class attractions are based on Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga, Gods of Egypt, The Divergent Series, Now You See Me, and Escape Plan.
Vivid scenarios
Highly anticipated are 30 pioneering, immersive, and diversified adventures including a 100-m (109-yd) virtual reality motorcycle trip. The ride is based on Twilight, an indoor roller coaster with a top speed of 10 m (10.94 yd) per second, and street magic shows. Park goers can also journey through a motion simulator 3D experience called Hunger Games: Mockingjay Flight Rebel Escape.
More leisurely travelers can immerse themselves in Treasure Hunt, Deadly Fly-cutter, and video games. There is a theme banquet hall, café, bakery, magic shop, and store selling film spin-off products.

Air-conditioned atmosphere can be a bit cold, so be prepared; nearsighted visitors are advised to have contact lenses so that they can put on VR glasses.
