Restored pond area open in busy Jida shopping area
Replete with rest spots, restored ponds, and other eye-pleasers, Xiuxian Shuijie (Leisure Water Street) has opened at the Guomao Shopping Plaza and Zhuhai Duty-Free Emporium between Zhuhai General Merchandise Fair and the Everbright (Guangda) Building in Jida.
Featuring redwood planks, ponds, vegetation, and sculptures, the corridor leads to top shopping stores in one of the downtown area's most-visited commercial areas. The 1.2-hecatre (2.97-acre) landscape corridor's lighting effects further accent the cityscape at night.
Leisure Water Street
The beautification project supports construction of the nearby City Balcony viewing complex just north of Haibin Park and City Parlor (Haibin Beach). Some old buildings were dismantled while others are being remodeled. Work began in April at the former site of Mo Mo Xiang and other restaurants, Fountain School, and a line of shops.
According to Zhuhai Guomao Shopping Plaza Co, the parking lot within the construction scope was upgraded to prove a smooth connection with the transportation network.
