The new 17-floor Zhuhai Holiday Resort Hotel building will open in October with 203 large-sized guestrooms and a swimming pool atop a three-floor wellness center equipped with fitness rooms and badminton and basketball courts.

The additions to the iconic hotel on East Shihua Road, Jida are part of the first phase of renovation and transformation, which came under construction at the end of last year.

The new northern entrance, between the former main gate that was closed in late 2018 and northern gate (discontinued in March), opened on Aug 4. Water landscapes and greenery lead inward from the entrance. 

The first phase will also have four stand-alone commercial buildings as support facilities.

A gas station and complex integrating a Grade-5A office building, boutique hotel-style office areas, and mid-to-high-end commercial plaza are part of the second phase at the intersection of East Shihua Road and Lovers Avenue.

The Zhuhai Holiday Resort Hotel opened in 1984. It is regarded as China's first five-star hotel for leisure and vacations. Facing the South China Sea with Shihua Mountain at its back, the resort is well-equipped for conferences, vacations, business gatherings, wedding receptions, and tourism.

The transformation is part of the overall uplift of the Jiuzhou Bay Area, which encompasses Jiuzhou Port, into a world-class coastal resort and distinctive business zone.
