Fall events further boost Zhuhai as popular tourist city
Autumn in Zhuhai will be marked with major cultural, sports, and tourism events, it was announced at a city government press conference on Sept 5. Some are continuing from the summer season while the rest are very popular annual events that have drawn thousands of spectators over the years.
Zhuhai Public Art Festival
The festival opened in July and continues through November with song, dance, and folk music contests and performances at various venues, as well as classics recitals and photography competitions.

3rd International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians
Sept 10-22 at Zhuhai Huafa & CPAA Grand Theatre (珠海华发中演大剧院)
Shortlisted through tryouts, 116 pianists and violinists from 16 countries have survived from a field of some 300 young musicians from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania. During the event, 32 concerts will be open to the public.

Sept 23-29 at Hengqin International Tennis Center (横琴国际网球中心)
The highest-level ATP men's tennis professional event in South China offers total prize money of $1 million. Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas, Spanish pro Bautista Agut, and Australian player Nick Kyrgios have made the cut. At present, the list of other players has been initially confirmed, and logistics including accommodations, catering, and transportation are under preparation.

17th Zhuhai International Beach Music Festival
Oct 19-20 at Haibin Beach (海滨泳场)
Over the two days, hip-hop music, literature, and variety performances will be staged at the popular Jida beach. Highlights include Chinese rapper Gai and ballad singer Chen Hongyu. The names of other guests will be released soon. The music festival promises an immersive experience for visitors and breakthroughs in stage arts and interactive activities.
2019 Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai
Oct 22-27 at Hengqin International Tennis Center (横琴国际网球中心)
The 12-player singles field in Zhuhai will consist of those ranked 9 through 19 in the world, along with one wildcard, in a four-group round-robin format. The 22 competitions comprise 15 singles and seven doubles events. Prize money has been increased to $2.4 million. Stefanie Graf, the tournament’s global ambassador in 2016, 2017, and 2018, will meet fans again during tournament week.

2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Rim City Cycling Challenge (Zhuhai Jinwan Stop)
Nov 3 at Aviation New City, Jinwan District
Elite, challenge, public, and children's groups will ride through Zhuhai under the theme "sports and tourism" to promote the sports, culture, ecology, and visiting in the Greater Bay Area. The race is part of the program to integrate national fitness and the health.
Chimelong Theater
6th China International Circus Festival
Nov 16-23 at Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort (横琴长隆)
The festival has scheduled 23 exciting programs from 24 countries and regions. The opening ceremony and comprehensive performances will be staged Nov 16 at Chimelong Theater. From Nov 17 to 22, the international acrobatics show will be hosted. The following day will feature a closing ceremony.
During the festival, cultural events will also be staged at Zhuhai Sports Center (体育中心) in New Xiangzhou on Nov 18, Queen Elizabeth Stadium (伊利沙伯体育馆) in Hong Kong on Nov 12, and Macao Art Museum (澳门综艺馆) on Nov 19. A circus culture performance tour will set off on Nov 13 in Zhuhai.

Preparations for the concert are underway with a schedule to boost cultural exchanges among Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao. Members of the Hong Kong and Macao choirs will visit Zhuhai cultural facilities and schools to carry out exchanges and interactions with local art talents, further boosting youth exchanges.
