Heysea Yachts' Zhuhai base for catamaran R&D, design, and production is scheduled to be operational by the second quarter of 2020 to meet soaring market demands in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Southeast Asia regions.

Construction of the 30,000-sq-m (7.4-acre) facility commenced on Oct 9 in the Pingsha Yacht Industrial Zone of the Gaolan Port Economic Zone after two years of site selection and plant design. The project, with a floorage of 27,000 sq m (6.7 acres), will also offer exhibitions and sightseeing, according to Leng Xuehua, president of Heysea Yachts.

Founded in 2007, the company is committed to the R&D, design and manufacture of luxury and super yachts and launches one or two new models annually. In full operation, its Jiangmen site produces a dozen yachts of over 100 ft, which will be primarily sold in North America, Australia, and Europe.

Heysea Yachts has been rated by Boat International Media among the Top 30 Yacht Builders by Length in its Global Order Book for five consecutive years since 2014. The ranking was tops in China and 16th worldwide in both 2017 and 2018.
