The 3rd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum will open at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen on Monday, Oct 21 and run until Wednesday.

Three hundred foreign and domestic guests will participate. They include officials from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao; heads of nine Pearl River Delta cities; foreign consuls in Guangzhou; world-renowned scholars and experts; business executives; and senior media executives.

Leading the list of speakers are Angus S Deaton, 2015 laureate of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences; David Gosset, founder of the Euro-China Forum; Fan Gang, Secretary-General of the China Reform Foundation; Chi Fulin, president of the China Institute for Reform & Development; and Douangchith Savatbounmy, editor-in-chief of the Laotian Pasaxon newspaper.

The forum is themed Construction of the Greater Bay Area Helps Blend the "Maritime Silk Road." In addition to master forum Integration of Maritime Silk Road and Greater Bay Area Development, there will be three sub-forums discussing External Communication of Greater Bay Area Development, Media Integration in International Communication Innovation, and City Image Building under the Belt & Road Initiative.

Strategic cooperation agreements will be signed between Zhuhai Media Group, Macao Commercial Post International Media Group, Telediffusion of Macao Co, and Macao Cable TV during the forum.

A sci-tech corridor will feature a bilingual book exhibition of Thought on Socialism With Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, a 5G+4K/8K+AI intelligentized media display, and joint cultural-tourism photo exhibition of countries along the Belt & Road, according to Min Yuntong, deputy executive director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee.    

Supportive activities such as Heavyweights on Campus, promotions of Zhuhai's city images, and circus shows will also be held on the sidelines of the forum. 

The event will be handled by the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Zhuhai Municipal People's Government under the umbrella of China Media Group and the People's Government of Guangdong Province.
