An upgraded light show will illuminate Zhuhai Opera House on Yeli Island at 7:30 tonight with multimedia visual arts and laser projection technology. 

The new production showcases the unique culture and temperament of the city in three chapters: Opera House -- Palace of Art, Xianglu Bay -- Romantic Beach, and Zhuhai -- City of Memories.

Taking the scallop-shaped structures of the Zhuhai Opera House as its screen, laser projection technology will present more exquisite images against the backdrop of the calm sea of Xianglu Bay and cause no light pollution compared with lights installed on buildings.

The light show is directed by Sha Xiaolan, deputy chairman of the China Institute of Stage Design. He was the general art director of lighting at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games as well as chief director of the opening ceremonies of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition and the 11th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities.

In addition, the operator, Zhuhai Urban Construction Group, will cooperate with China Mobile Zhuhai Branch to live stream the show with 5G technology. Mobile users can access to the live video broadcast by searching "日月贝光影秀" in Apps including My Zhuhai (我的珠海), Iqiyi (爱奇艺), Youku (优酷), toutiao (今日头条), Guangdong Mobile (广东移动), and miguvideo (咪咕视频).

Zhuhai Opera House, the first on-island theater in the Chinese mainland, is a must-visit place in Zhuhai. As night falls, it puts on a dazzling light show illuminating the environs.
