Shenzhen visions ferry ports at Qianhai and Yantian
Travel between Zhuhai and Shenzhen will be further facilitated with a proposed Zhuhai-Qianhai ferry route and the Shenzhen-Zhuhai Intercity Railway.
This was revealed in Shenzhen's 2019-2035 action draft plan released by the Shenzhen Transport Bureau on Nov 18, by which it intends to become a demonstrative city in China's quest for a strong transportation network.

Shenzhen plans to establish a convenient and efficient waterborne transport network in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Those plans call for ferry terminals to be built in Qianhai and Yantian, with direct sea routes to be launched to Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The Qianhai Free Trade Zone is located on the southwestern edge of Shenzhen while Yantian is a deep-water port district in southeast of the city.
Currently, travelers from Zhuhai can access Shenzhen via Jiuzhou Port ferry routes to Shekou Port and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
In terms of land travel, Shenzhen will accelerate the planning and construction of intercity railways to core cities in the Pearl River Delta including Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, Shantou, and others.
