Top players from the Asia-Pacific region will compete at the Hengqin International Tennis Center from Dec 3 to 8 for a coveted 2020 Australian Open main draw wildcard spot.

Much-anticipated is that Denis Olegovich Istomin from Uzbek at the Australian Open Asia-Pacific Wildcard Playoff. In 2017, he qualified with the Asia-Pacific wildcard and then defeated defending champion Novak Djokovic in the second round.

Meanwhile, seeing whether South Korean player Duckhee Lee can be avenged for the loss to Istomin in the final of the 2017 Australian Open Asia-Pacific Wildcard Playoff will be another highlight.

Others in the 16-man lineup are Tatsuma Ito from Japan, Jason Jung and Tsung-Hua Yang from Chinese Taipei, Ramkumar Ramanathan from India, Ji Sung Nam from South Korea, and home favorites Zhang Ze and Cui Jie.

On the female roster of 15 players, Sun Ziyue, Du Yingying, and Sun Xuliu from China, Han Na-lae and Su Jeong Jang from South Korea, Ayano Shimizu and Junri Namigata from Japan, and Abigail Tere-Apisah from Papua New Guinea will compete.

The matches are open to the public free of charge, and tennis fans can access the venues according to the schedule. However, required are e-tickets, which can be claimed on-site for free, for matches on Dec 7 and 8.

Transport:

Use GPS Navigation to parking lot north of Hengqin International Tennis Center (横琴国际网球中心) via Jialin Mt Tunnel.

Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport: Bus 207 to Beishan (北山), transfer to K11 and get off at Hengqin New Homes (横琴新家园) – walk 15 minutes.

Jiuzhou Port: Bus 4 to Shuiwantou (水湾头), transfer to K10 and get off at Hengqin New Homes – walk 15 minutes.

Xiangzhou Passenger Depot: K11 and get off at Hengqin New Homes - walk 15 minutes.
